Default Model 59 price check

MY LGS has a very nice condition Model 59. All factory original. 3 mags no box. I do not have a 59 anymore and am tempted by it.

What would be a good price point for a LGS buy?

Please leave out the $150 deals that I am sure somene got at an estate sale or something similar. I am looking for a realistic price I would expect to pay w/o getting robbed.

I will attempt to send a pic. S/N is A45422x putting DOB around 1977 or 1978. A little later in the 59s run.

Thank you for your help.

Looks very nice, I'd say between $400 to $500. I know that lots were made, but how many remain in great condition.

Default Sweet find

Very sweet looking pistol my friend. It looks "minty" from here.

My LGS has/had a 90% 59 4 mags, original box, original purchase receipt from 1978 and the warranty card/adverts. The pistol was originally listed at 499.99. Im regular at my LGS seeing as its my favorite range, so we have a good relationship. I was able to get the 59 off his books for 399.

I would have paid 499.99, and he could have gotten it from the right guy considering the guns condition. That said your example above looks a little better than mine. 400-500 is fair 500-600 being the max and 375-400 would be a steal.

In excellent shape with three S&W OEM magazines I'd gladly pay $500.00

The Model 59 is one of the models where it always seems to be a buyer's market. Those two pictures suggest a beautiful condition and I would imagine hardly any use as the 59 grips and frame don't resist wear all too well. But still, these are guns that simply don't bring big prices.

With three mags, that visibly high condition but no box, it would typically sell around $400 and if priced at $500 firm, it would always be there to welcome folks because it likely wouldn't sell.

A Model 59 in that condition with 3 magazines, about $500.

In regard to the Model 59, I've said before that in my experience there are very used condition shooters and very high condition collectibles and little in-between. This gun seems to fall into the latter category, although lacking its factory box is kind of a bummer. It would be tagged at no less that $499.95 around here and possibly as high as $599.95... although to be an attractive buy, I'd want it to own it for something at or under $450 OTD.

I bought one here LNIB for $450 . The owner was new with only 4-5 posts , so I guess people were scared to take a chance . When I got it , I was sure it's never been fired , but seeing I don't know for sure , I call it LNIB . It had a business card from somewhere in Penn . , which had the old style phone#s , like 1-2345 , so I know the box got put away and never touched .

Thanks guys. After deliberation with the Good Wife I was reminded that after I bought the 2nd Pre 39 and the 5905 a couple of weeks ago ...that I was going to sell a "bunch" of guns to continue downsizing and restock the savings. That did not include the purchase of any guns in the mean time.. I hate it when she is right. But she is. If anyone wants the address of this LGS he will ship. Please shoot me a PM.
