Default CHP 4006TSW ammo question

Just picked up one of the S&W 4006TSW CHP trade-ins (sweet pistol!) and I was curious about what load(s) the CHP used in these guns. Anyone know?

From what I've heard they currently use 180gr Winchester T-series, prior to that it was the 180gr Remington Golden Saber.

Hopefully, a CHP officer can confirm.

Another question... My 4006TSW came with three mags with red floorplates. Anybody else get some of these? Were these training mags or something?

S&W 4006TSW California Highway Patrol (CHP) Information

See post #44.

"About the magazines - CHP uses red bottom training magazines for all live fire training. The black bottom duty magazines do not see abuse and are cycled yearly to ensure function. Every black bottom magazine will be in excellent condition."

Interesting. They had also used some kind of red sharpie to mark the front of the mag body where the bump is. I've only put a few rounds through mine, but that 11th round is a tight fit on all three mags. Also, I can't seat a fully loaded mag unless the slide is locked back.

I don't know. But I thought I'd share that TargetSports has a solid special going on .40S&W Federal HST 180 gr JHP - $360 per case. I posted in the ammo section but not sure how many here may check that particular forum.
