Default Mod 52 field holster?

Has anyone ever seen a commercially offered 52 field holster?
Why, just curious. This is directed to the holster guys out there.
I have a punished Mod 52 project on the bench. Best

A holster for a model 39 might work, similar frame size, length might be an issue.

I have twice taken the field with a Model 52 for multiple days on a hunting trip and my experience been that carrying the pistol securely and comfortable is not difficult EXCEPT for the extremely sharp and not hidden large rear target sight. That sight is, however, a big part of the reason that I choose the 52 for this hunt.

First year I simply used a shark skin OWB holster that was actually built specifically for my Coonan pistol and it worked very well but again, the sharp rear sight was a concern. This year I used an ultra-cheap nylon flap holster and that actually did a fine job of covering the rear sight adequately... but the draw stroke left a whole lot to be desired.

I would say that mine is still very much a work in progress. Also, sadly... I must report that I did not take a prairie dog with my 52 this trip, which is an utter disappointment to me after successfully taking three last year.

I plan to bounce back next year!

I'm curious as to what you mean by "a punished Mod 52 project."

Mike the 52 has a very large front site blade and my guess is the extra 1" of slide will overhang then hang up on most Mod 39/59 holsters.

Other than shooting outdoors without a bench to set it on or some sort of competition that requires holster draw not sure there is a scenario where I would ever want to holster a Model 52 as most indoor ranges around these parts do not allow holster draw, Any advantage from the extra 1" of barrel and fancy target sites would be negated by the heavier steel frame, Single action only trigger, low capacity magazine (6 rounds IIRC?) and fairly anemic .38 HBWC round it fires.

Great target gun .

Just occurred to me that a holster for a Browning Hi power might fit well, same barrel length and frame size.

Punished? In a box with parts missing. Some surface marks.
It has been a work in progress for years. It belongs to an old friend who just putters with it. Will it ever get completed? I dont know.
