Does anyone know if there is a red dot sight that is a direct replacement for the rear sight, without having to use a pic rail? I saw a picture of one on the web, I think it was a Burris but am not sure, and while web searching I was unable to find any details. I'm still new to red dots on pistols, so thanks for any help.
I have 2 S&W 22 Victorys, one has a red dot mounted on a "pic" rail; the other is box stock. I just went to my shop and examined the stock sights. The sights are a one-piece assembly with one screw holding it on at the front and a clip under the adjustable sight. Remove the screw and slide the entire assembly off. There is nothing on the bare receiver to attach a red dot module to. That's why they include a picatinny rail in the box with the gun.
There are many after-market producers of upgrades to the Victory. Google Tandemkross, Volquartsen and Allchin to see if they have invented something you could use.
