How to locate the right holster for CS45
Hi all:
I have recently purchased a really nice CS45 or a Chiefs Special .45 auto w/ model ## CS45. Why is it so hard to locate a holster for this gun? None of the suppliers have CS45 OR Chiefs Special 45 in it's list of holster ID's. I went to my local gun shop today and the frustration is that you must open and try holsters until you find one that fits. I did buy a Uncle Mikes #15 and by accident a LH in which I will use around the property as an OWB as a RH holster. BUT, Now I realize I should have bout the #16 instead RH but for an OWB, #15 is about 1" deeper and that will hold my firearm better.
BUT, I have been to holster websites and yet to find ANY ID specifically stating a part ## for the CS45!! I know my barrel is 3.25" long and maybe a K frame? Anyway, when I find what I like in many styles, I hate to ask....'Will it fit my CS45"?? I don't believe there is a revolver w/ a part ## as CS45, right? Why does this have to be so hard? I would like to find a softie IWB in different brands, and a nice IWB or OWB in Kydex, or others. WHAT common firearm is interchangeable with the same holster? M & P 40? OR? Can someone please make the search easier for us who are lost? I love to window shop and when I find something I really want, I don't want it to take days to determine if it will work for my gun. I really want to buy several different holsters for this .45 auto for different situations. I will also start keeping an eye in our 'FOR SALE' forum for holsters for my specific gun. Feel free to e-mail me if you have something I may like, such as mags, etc., Thanks for your time!! [email protected]

Best best is gun shows. You can have a custom fitted Kydex made there if you want one. For any other owb or leather holsters you may have to try several out.

@Wizard,
I pretty much had the same problem trying to locate a holster for my Mauser HSc. The reason for the difficulty you are experiencing is that your CS45 has been out of production for a while!
Honestly, I don't have a CS45, but it looks quite similar to a 3913LS, possibly your CS45 would fit a holster made for a 3913LS? Also, you may have some better success by looking at a belt slide.
I wish you the best!

I think the CS45 has only been out of production since 2006? I have a Model 59 9mm that I have no problem finding a holster for and it's been out of production since the late 70's early 80's maybe.

My OWB 'slip through' looks just like the one that Walker, Texas Ranger ( Chuck Norris) wears with his Beretta 92Fs 9mm and I love that one. My 'movie gun' the Jackal Dual 9mm fits the same holster perfectly.

How to locate the right holster for CS45
Good luck(I don't mean that sarcastically), I bought one from blade tech, the gun fit perfectly in it, but the holster didn't sit right on my hip, I like my holster to sit kinda low on my belt line... but they gave me full refund, great customer service...

Keep in touch with the Kydex ID/size info if your CS45 fits!! I'm sure that Kydex holsters are far from forgiving as 'soft' and leather holsters are. I would like to by a Kydex in the future. Just put $40 down on a beautiful Bianchi 100 size 11 leather that looks very similar to yours. Thanks, Scott

FIST Holster lists the CS45. They make holsters in leather, kydex, and I think hybrid in a number of styles.

I didn't find this on my list of interchangeables, but when I inquired to an ebay seller about how to find the right part number for a holster they were selling for my gun, I got this answer from the seller!! Nice of them.
"Please choose the holster for the Sig 2022 / 2340 from the pull down menu. That will be the correct size holster for you.
Thank You"
BTW, this is the site I bought my leather holster through as they have a nice EBAY site.

Give lobogunleathers.com a try. Ray made holsters for over 40 years before retiring and turning over his business to the new owners. I'd bet they have exactly what you need. Good luck.

I observe the CS45 is on the gun list offered by FIST holsters. I have ordered from them before and their products are perfectly satisfactory.

I agree. I have a FIST IWB kydex holster and magazine carrier for the CS 45. I used mine once, then changed over to the Bianchi fanny pack holster. Sold it, but you can contact FIST.

Alien Gear also has CS40/CS45 holsters in Kydex.
Technically they're 4506 holsters...
but they work
Also have a nice selection for other 3rd Gen S&W's

I'm not a Kydex guy; so I can only speak of the leather ones.
Tim Thurner of TT Gunleather makes awesome holsters for 3rd gens and is very reasonable.
He made one (IWB) for my 4014 and I've used it every day now for about 5 years.
In fact, I'm getting ready to buy 2 more from Tim.

Is there a 'SIZE' or anything listed? If not, what is the brand? I can never get enough holsters when I'm in a roll!! Is that 'OUTBACK', is that the brand?
BTW everyone, GREAT NEWS!!! My ebay purchased holster has arrived and the fit is perfect!!!! I think the fit will even relax a tad once the gun is left in there a while but I took a gamble and i love it!! Any tighter or looser and I would be unhappy. For my $42 incl. tax and coming from Texas to Florida, I am pleased. If anyone wants a link to the ebay site for these holsters, let me know. The 'sweat paddle' is perfect and is very comfortable!
OK, for the specifics, Glock 19 is one among the many hand guns to look for in a holster size. I listed most all ^^^above in a prior post. This is the Bianchi Model 100 Professional Size 11 RH....... The leather is very sturdy and nice. The clip is metal and looks to be replaceable if you ever need to replace it. I am extremely pleased and will post photos now. Thanks, and I will post future holster purchases here as well and I welcome more eligible holsters for the Chiefs Special 40/45.

My leather Glock 30 holster fits my CS45 perfectly. The company that made it isn't in business anymore, unfortunately.

The brand is Outbags, it's hard to read in the pic! It was labeled a LOB2S, I originally purchased it for my glock 19(sold the glock, kept the holster in my drawers of holsters lol), but it's kinda like all the other leather holsters that I've came across, meaning that it will fit a few different guns... but I will tell you that I did have to take a dremmel to it so that the sights would rest correctly.... so it's not a 100% perfect fit... glad you found one that works for you!
