Karma giveaway - new Hogue cocobolo grips, 6900 series
I have a set of Hogue Coco Bolo stocks that allegedly fit S&W 3rd gen 6900 series 9mm pistols with double stack mags (6904, 6906, etc). I purchased them new to put on my 6906, and attempted to install them, but had problems getting them screwed on. I believe Hogue sent screws that were too short, and also the alignment of the screw holes was just a tiny bit off, although the grips fit the frame well, matched up perfectly in the rear, and looked great on the pistol. The 6906 I had was one of the older models, with the square trigger guard. I have sold the gun, so have no need for the grips.
Anyway, I am willing to give these away to someone who thinks they could get them to work on their pistol. At a minimum, I think you will need to get longer screws, and perhaps a little fitting to get the screw holes to align properly. Please don't ask for them to try to resell, I prefer to give them to someone who will use them. If you have a 6900 series 3rd gen and would like to try them out, be the first to respond and follow up with a PM with your mailing address (continental US only please).

Hey, my 6906 would LOVE them!
ETA: Pic. This is a really nice 6906 that I think started life as a California DOC gun. Note the 3 matching etched numbers on the frame, slide and barrel. Other verified CA DOC guns have the same markings.
Somewhere on here, someone with the same serial prefix said theirs was a 2006 production.

Thank you so very much! If they don't work for me, I'll do the same for someone else. Eventually they'll fit someone's firearm.
I'm hopeful my later production 6906 will be what they fit.
Incredible generosity. Now I'll have to poke around and see if I have anything I can karma out myself!

Sounds like a good plan! I'll send the original packaging with Hogue's contact information, if you need longer screws I bet they will take care of you, they are a good company.

Well, I received the grips today and I can't thank msauter enough. I'm realizing what fantastic grips these are and that they're just not a luxury I'd normally have.
So, if they end up not fitting, I'll just re-post them back here for the next person until they work for someone. You can all wish me bad luck now!
Thanks again, Mike!

Well, a trip to the hardware store for longer stainless screws, a little judicious filing on the plastic adapter for the screws/spring cup holder and, voila! The grips fit like a glove.
The screw hole was offset just a fraction. Probably never know exactly why.
So, in a way I'm sorry another member won't get a shot at these ... but not really, really sorry.
And so, a big thank you to msauter for his incredible generosity. This forum is one of the top places on the internet, thanks to the incredible members here!
Kind of feel like I won the lottery ....
