Default Range report: new to me 639

I was finally able to get out to the range with the 639 I posted about last week finding. Soon as I began my wait to get it I purchased I ordered another magazine and a recoil spring from Midway usa. Timing ended up being perfect as I received order friday. I noticed my few first magazines were a little scattered around and it didn't slide all the way into battery a couple times. So apart came gun at range and out came new recoil spring. The new one was over an inch maybe 2 inches longer than the old spring. What a huge difference that 1 spring made on accuracy. From that point on shooting groups all 2 inches and smaller, I felt that was pretty good considering twas my first time shooting it. Worked flawless and the trigger is so much nicer than my Cannik tp9v2!! The recoil is also much more manageable in rapid shooting.

Nice report. By far, the best thing about pistols with steel/stainless steel receivers is recoil management. The downside is that they are heavier when you carry them.

Have the 3906 and love it. Its my EDC. A little heavy, but the weight makes for a good shooter. Weight doesn't bother me cause when its needed you'd wish you had a howitzer.

The 639 is one of the great underappreciated gems. Mine is one of the few guns I have bought NIB, has a very smooth trigger. The steel frame does a great job of dampening recoil.
