I was very fortunate to recently acquire a Model 46 with the 5.5" Heavy Barrel (only 500 made) to ad to the collection. Once it's in my hands, I'll post pics. Also I've dabbled into something new, a Model 422 in 6" with adjustable rear sight and wooden grips. I understand that it's not a bad shooter at all. Any comments???

I too have discovered the little model 422. In the last two months I have picked up two of them. One like yours with 6" bbl and target sights, then another one at a pawn shop a couple of days ago with fixed sights, 4" bbl and plastic grips. I also bought a model 2206, which is the 'all stainless' version. It had target sights but plastic grips, 6" bbl. I shot the 2206 and the 6" 422. Both shot flawlessly. I'm used to shooting Model 41's and they seem a little light for target but they were pretty accurate with decent triggers.
Still looking for a model 46.

I've heard mostly positive comments about the 422. You mention the 2206 stainless version. I thought it was called the Model 622 or is there two stainless versions?

I have a M622VR, and it's a sweet shooting .22. I don't see much about them on here, which is a shame. I'm sure most of us have at least 1-2 of them, but all we talk about is the larger calibers. Whenever I go to the range, I always start off with a .22 to warm up. Learned that from my big brother, and I still do it.

The 622 is alloy, same as the 422 with a different finish.

The 2206 is in fact stainless.

I am a M46 owner which I use as my backup to my M41 if it ever gets sick. Its very rare to be used as the old 1958 M41 runs so well. THe 422 and 622 are a really nice shooting gun which are both accurate and dependable also.
