Welcome to the Forum

Who converted your first 4013? Or did you purchase it already converted?

Bad_Man_One started us down this road many years ago, but I do not believe he is doing work on other peoples firearms.

I can not make another recommendation as I just do my own.

I want a 4013 to convert myself

I only have a 1014 now

I apologize that my original post was deceiving, I'm keeping one of the 4013's as 40 S&W and will convert the 2nd one that I have on the way.
I'comfortable trying the conversion myself but am confused on the addition of the buffer and where to find one. If I may ask how heavy is the spring in that incredible 1014 of yours? That's a beauty!!

Use the factory original 4013/4014 inner spring with the 23 pound spring that is for the single spring 4516s as the outer spring.

In addition to oldman10mm's post above, you can buy buffers from Midway, Natchez and most any of the online vendors of parts.

^^^ thanks !
I still have to finish/fine tune my 4053('1053') conversion. Picked up a 4013/4053 barrel and reamed that, left the original barrel intact so that the 4053 can be returned to a 4053 status.

These is a pretty long string in this very sub-forum about the work to do such a conversion. Most of the technical issues were over my head, but it was a great read. I suspect you will find it worth searching for and reading - repeatedly.

I can sort of picture the screen name and background; he's a retired Coast Guard Master Chief IIRC, and a machinist by trade. I'm think his rating is Bosun's Mate, and that would be reflected in his screen name, but that memory is ... worth about what you are paying me for it.

Thank You.

Here is a 360 degree view of the 1014 if you do not mind spending 25 seconds watching it

In the lower resolutions, the YouTube compression makes it look out of focus. You might want to select 720P for better viewing. I wish there was a way to disable the 144 resolution

Truth is, I do not shoot or carry the 1014 much now that I have the CS10s. 24 ounce pocket pistols chambered for the 10MM Auto

For some reason, Midway and Natchez have discontinued Buffer Technologies products. I am a fan of their 3rd Gen. buffers.
