4526 parts help
Hello everyone, new member here. I have my father's old duty 4526 so I could clean it up for him (could no longer bear the condition it is in). Not very familiar with these pistols and could use some help. The plastic grips look horrible and I would like to replace them, preferably with the same rounded backstrap type, but am having little luck.
I have found and ordered a set of the straight grips (assuming they will work), but would like to replace them in kind (or at least get them for him). Any idea where these, or after market options, might be available?
I am also replacing the de-cocker spring, recoil spring, and magazine spring, but as I mentioned, not real familiar with these so is there any other parts I should look for at this time?
Thanks!

I have a set of new curved grips I will probably never use. If the straight grips you have coming are new, would you like to trade?

I believe the 4526 has a frame mounted decocker and uses grips different than the 4506/4566. My 4026 with the frame mounted decocker uses different grips than my 4006. Numric might have them though.

Thanks MackTech, yes you are correct, it does have the frame decocker. Numrich has the straight grips only, already have that set coming would like to find the rounded backstrap set with the cutout for the decocker since that's what are on it now, and my guess is that my dad would prefer those if I can find them since that's what be is used to.

Are they for the model 4526 with the cutout for the decocker? If so, I would prefer to buy them if you would sell them as I would like to have my dad try both when he comes in to visit. The straight ones are available at Numrich.
Thanks for the quick responses!

I'd suggest replacing the firing pin spring also. If you're getting the replacement recoil spring from Wolff they usually include an XP firing pin spring with their's.
I usually replace the mainspring on my new finds too.

DFC, I don't know if you found the curved grips yet, but Numrich has them listed as in stock.

Thanks GaryS, I was able to get a set. Numrich has the straight grips, and the curved grips are listed, however, it would not let me add them to my cart.
