Will a 3913 fit Into a Desantis Holster For a 59? Updated with New Pictures.

Desantis OWB1.jpgI have a 3913 that I need a holster for. I came across this (used and cheap)Desantis and saw they don't make one for the 3913 specifically.

"The Companion(R) II now features our Tuckable 360(TM) C-Clip making it both tuckable and adjustable for cant and height. It can also be worn OWB with its 1 3/4" belt slots."

From looking at their site, I believe this is the model info?

Applications: S&W 59-44, 59-46
SKU: 126BAB8Z0

Anybody out there with this holster or knowledge of the 3913/59 models care to chime in?

Thanks to everyone for your feedback. My 3913 fits the holster like a glove--almost. The holster is about a 1/2" longer than the end of my pistol. Also there's about a 1/2" between the 3913 and the thumb strap. That being said, the holster fits snug and is molded just right. When holding the holster upside down with it UN-straped, you can't shake it out of the holster. Good enough for now. I'll still hunt for a smaller holster that's made for the 3913.

The name of this is DeSantis Holster The Companion II (can be worn IWB or OWB). I'd like to trade it for a IWB made more for my smaller 3913. Any takers? Just throwing it out there. I have a NIB Don Hume D417-P Blk 100b Clip on W/Indent single mag holder to add on for the right deal!

To my knowledge, all 39 and 59 series guns have the same slide and will interchange in the same holster.

The 59 is going to have a longer barrel/slide than the 3913. The 59 had/has a hammer spur, typically, the 3913 doesn't so the retention strap isn't going to work.

My personal experience with a holster with a belt attachment like that is that it's gonna squirm around on the belt. You need belt slots further apart to support the firearm.

So, is it gonna fit? Yeah, but not well and the usability is unknown, but not likely to be good.

It looks short, like the barrel of a 59 would stick out of the front.
This means it could be just right for one of the smaller 39 or 69 series guns. The thumb break would be my only concern and it may work nicely. If it isn't too expensive I would buy it.
I have some holsters for my 39 and I use them for my CS9 and my 6906.

Not sure if this will help but I have a DeSantis product chart that covers all their products. It is way too huge to post on forum but a fast search of it shows the below product numbers specifically for the 3913.

I found that you must do your search using the hyphen in the model # (ex:39-13) in order to find them.

Also if you prefer the thumb break models, I found htat Boston leather had several models that fit the S&W 3rd gens. I personally have used Boston stuff for past 40 yrs,.

The single stack S&W metal frame 9mm's will usually fit just fine in holsters designed for the double stacks, but a double stack pistol, due to the wider receiver from the slide stop aft to the grip, will either not fit or fit very tightly into a holster designed for the single stack pistols.

Thank you for the information. Do you have access to other manufactures product charts also? I'm always looking for older holsters for my Smiths and have a hard time figuring out what fits right. It would be great if I could download the charts for future reference. I'll PM you. Thanks again.

My current favorite IWB holsters for the 3913 are:

**I’m finding that some leather IWB holsters for Glock 19 work well with 39XX series. They might be slightly big for the 39XX but flatten and get snug IWB.

My S&W 439 and S&W 59 interchange into my Crossbreed IWB just fine. In a pinch my Glock29 works too.
My favorite edc is my Beretta Nano, light small and plenty of 9mm punch.

I have a Desantis Mini Scabbard for my 3913 and love it. I also have the same holsters for my Glock 26 and M&P Shield. They conceal well and are made for a 1 1/2” belt. These holsters seem to be very secure for not having a dedicated retention device.

I think your 3913 would fit in the holster for the 59 but it may not be very secure.

Still in the market for a smaller holster that's made for the 3913.

Keep posting your holster preferences as I'm still looking for another holster. I appreciate everyone's experience.

I have a 6906 that fits in my 5906 holster. Same thing, extra room on the muzzle end, and the strap is a bit loose.

It is a Safariland with a part number for a 5906. And my 439 fits OK, but is a little loose because the frame is narrower than a double stack. Thumb break snap holds it in fine.

As you can see from the pictures in my first post, my gun is a little small to take advantage of all this holster has to offer.
I'd like to trade it for one made for my 3913. Anyone have a extra one laying around you'd be willing to trade? I can throw in a Don Hume single magazine holder NIB for the right deal.

Another IWB holster for the 3913 you should look at is the Bianchi Professional 100.

Size 10 fits a 3913 a little loosely, size 11 a little tightly - but they break in with wear. I have used them for over 15 years. I use them with my 4516s, 4513TSW and CS45. Absolutely my favorite IWB holster. Only issue I ever had was with the oldest one I own. The clip bent - after years of daily use.

A local holster maker put a new spring steel clip on it and I still use it today. Give them a look. You will be glsd you did. They can be found on Ebay and GB for 40 to 50 bucks. Money well spent. Good luck! Regards 18DAI
