I usually don't care for third gen Franken-Guns, but that is one awesome looking pistol! How does she shoot? And how much did all those parts set you back?

Did you modify the sights to fit? I don't see Warren sight that fit 3rd gen guns. Love the two-tone look.

One thing I forgot to mention. I'm a DA/SA shooter, in training and competition I generally run DA/SA Sig or Beretta. I also prefer 9mm, but this project will allow me to shoot the .40 in the action I prefer.

Shoots great, 100% better than what it was.
Parts - Sights were 70 buck, mag release about 8 bucks.
Melonite was 120 bucks - not needed, but I had to have the slide black.

No modifications, the part # is 100-005-187 it's designed by Warren Tactical as the S&W 1911/5906 (3rd gen cut) sights. I actually had to email Brownells over and over to try and get them to update their site. They don't seem to want to do this though.

Keep in mind - in my experience with the 4006's there are some variances in the dovetails. So you may get an oversized dovetail and have poor fit.

I have a couple surplus slides and barrels that went through the Melonite treatment. This way I don't confuse them with the originals, and I like the two tone look too.

I have not heard of the sights you installed. It is nice to have another option to a very limited pool of available 3rd Gen replacement sights. So thanks for the information. Have you shot it yet, and do they regulate?

I've shoot them for accuracy soon and report back. Seems that they were hitting closer to the top of the blade over the stock Novak's.
