Default 2 Questions....

I just acquired a real nice 39-2 that is almost like new. Need some help on date of mfg/release for sale. SN is A272406.

I know from reading a lot of the threads on serial number questions that the bible is SCSW. I only have 3 Smiths at the present time and have trouble in my mind justifying the cost of the book or Kindle e-book just for the serial number look-up. The Kindle (or Google) on-line quick peak really doesn't tell me what type of information the book contains. I'm interested more in the schematics, complete disassembly and reassembly, differences in production years, etc., etc.

Am really kicking myself in the backside for giving my old copy of Mr Jink's book away 20 years ago....

I would think you could find schematics online and you tube is good for disassembly...most of the time. The SCSW is great for identification, production history and just fun to browse through.

There's a schematic in the owner's manual (perhaps more of a visual parts list).
