I am not completely sure why I bought the 681 and 3" 629 other than the decent price and I didn't want anyone else to have it. As far as the 625-6, I've always wanted a stainless, pre MIM, pre IL Mountain Gun in .45 Colt and I passed on several before. Wasn't going to let this one get away.

You should open a new thread and share the tale of this one. We love 52 threads and we haven't had a new one to discuss in a bit.

I bought a .20 ga. CZ Sharptail SXS that I'd kept an eye on for several months. More than just a nice looking sxs, it comes quickly to my shoulder and gives me a perfect sight picture. CZ-USA CZ Sharp-Tail - CZ-USA

H&K Vp9
VP9 - Heckler & Koch
Why?
1) It's likely the best feeling and best featured full sized polymer made today.
2) Sale price, 4 free mag rebate and cool/ unique OD green color was making me lose sleep.
3) It is a good excuse to sell off my Gen 3 Glock 35.

I bought a left handed Ruger American Ranch 16" in .450 Bushmaster. One of a handful specially made for the Michigan market, not cataloged by Ruger and not a distributor special. The right handed guns are cataloged and I'm already seeing them pop up in stores here in WA.

According to the store, I got the next to last one too

Bought it because, while we don't have a straight wall requirement here in WA, it seems like a terrific brush gun. 5-1/2lbs, magazine fed, very handy. I have a Marlin 1895 so the Ruger fits the same niche, just a tad more modern and much lighter.

To the op, I bought the same pistol back in 1990, great gun but times got hard and I had to sell her, Ive been sick about it ever since. My latest purchase was about a month ago, a model 60 no dash 38 special snub nose circa 1987. As to why, i bought it off a friend for a very fare price, it's in very good shape,he really never shot it, and I can't resist a good revolver when I come across one

M&P C.O.R.E. Why, because with my old eyes, I could no longer see the front sight of my 1911s at speed. The red dot helped immensely. No that I've had the cataracts removed, I may go back to my 1911s.

Be picking an East German Makarov up on Friday - have wanted one for a while and when the opportunity presented itself for a very nice specimen at slightly below market, decided now was the time.

You likely won't be sorry. I love Makarovs, and EG are among the best...if not *the* best. Have fun!

Well, the OP didn't specify semi auto vs revolver, but I'll start with the semi auto anyway.

Bought in June at the S&W Symposium. Reason for buying - it's purdy!

Now on to revolvers! All were bought within the last 4 months. First up, used S&W Model 627-5 357x8 PC. Reason for buying, good deal plus I wanted the extra two rounds:

Next, Model 625 PC. Reason for buying, good price and I wanted a 45acp revolver:

And lastly as well as most recent (last week) a Model 25-3 125 Year Anniversary Edition. I wanted a Long Colt, and ran across this one. It was listed as used, and I intended to use it as a shooter, but it's too pretty to shoot, so I'm on the prowl for another one.

Last month I got a no-lock 340PD brand new for my EDC and it's been in my pocket every day since. Needing to lighten my load as much as possible I chose this model and have not regretted that decision. It shoots great w/ range .38 as well as +P. No magnum rounds yet.

My latest Gen 3 was a California Hiway Patrol 4006 TSW 40 caliber. Gun is pristine condition with no scratches, rub marks or signs of holster wear. Gun appears to be unissued. I am very happy with new addition to these family. Seems like there is always just one more Gen 3 that comes along just when you think you have all you need!!

I guess I bought the California HiWay Patrol 4006 TSW because I traded 4013 in on 4506 and wanted another 40 cal and knew the California gun would be nice. Dealer gave me first choice on several guns, all the ones he had were in great condition. Really great condition and it is good fit for my other Gen 3 Smith's.

The wife found me kind of a bucket list gun, a CMP M1 Garand 3006, I had a service grade one about 25 years ago, but it went down on a nasty divorce, and lawyer needed squaring up. It has new wood, and a new critereon barrel. I was able to rest fire only, and emptied 3 enbloc clips without a hitch using old LC69 m2 ammo. I've done some reloading for it, with 175 be sierra matchking bullets.

If I could somehow be assured that I'd get one as nice as you guys have been getting, I'd spring for one in a heartbeat. But my luck and experience isn't so good with buying used guns on-line. Until then, I'll stick with buying all my used guns locally even if that puts me in danger of losing one of the more desirable examples of 3rd Gen goodness.

I bought my second Shield 9 two weeks ago tomorrow. Traded in my Ruger SR9c (which I liked).

I want to have two carry guns in case something happens to one, and I was feeling more and more like my Shield and my SR9c were too dissimilar to each other. The Ruger had a very short and light trigger that demanded the safety, IMO. The Shield has a longer, heavier trigger and I'm comfortable with leaving the safety off. Which is a good thing because that thing is so small and stiff that it's difficult to disengage consistently. And the way it's shaped, I think it was made deliberately to not be able to engage it accidentally.

Now I have two carry guns that are essentially the same. The older one has white dot sights and the safety, and the new one has tritium sights and no safety, but operationally, they're identical and I can train with either of them. I really like that.

I don't know where you live but I live in Texas and we have an internet net site called Texas Gun Traders where individuals can list guns for sale or trade at no charge. It is not an auction site. You check gun information and check sellers contact information and deal with them. There is thousands of guns always listed. I have bought and sold several guns here. I usually meet at shooting range. Never had problem. This way you get to see gun before you buy it. Usually sellers have pictures and prices or will supply it before you meet and you can always negative. Check around your area if there is anything like this

You folks are very fortunate to live down there. We have something similar but much smaller... and, of course, we have Armslist like everyone else. But I'm talking mostly about used guns on that big firearms auction website and other Interwebs sources. As of right now, the only way to get one of those 4006TSW CHP pistols is to order one and just see what shows up.

I talked to local dealer and he ordered several 4006 TSWs when they came in he called me an gave me first choice. Mine was perfect and second choice had tiny dot on slide I believe both were unissued Price was $415.00 plus tax. Check with your dealer maybe he will order several and make you a deal

Interesting how you pulled that off! Very nice!

I'll ask around but that might be a rather hard sell up here. More than likely, they would want me to order multiples on my dime and then put what I don't want up for consignment sale in their shop!

A CZ 75 D PCR because it fits my hand perfectly, and it shoots as good as it looks.

So we can list non-S&W guns in this thread?

Ok, my most recent was a CZ 27 in .32 acp.

I bought it because:
my son found one for a reasonable price ($225) at a LGS while I was picking up my Sig P226, and we got that one for a birthday present for him. His was a nice pre-war model with DR markings (German Railway), clean, in good to VG condition. Very nice and pleasant shooter, our first foray into that caliber. Later on I found a Savage 1907 that was also in fair-good condition, to share the caliber... and although mechanically accurate, neither of us can shoot the Savage well.

So anyway, I impulse browsed recently on gunbroker, looking into .32's.
Found this one oddly described (simply M27), with a disclaimer that it may not function. Grip chipped at the rear, below the slide. This was a wartime production, 20xxxx serial, marked with the German inscription (Bohmische etc...). Grip was correct CZ; someone had buffed out the Nazi proofs and refinished the gun in a very nice blue.
Bidding started at $50...I put in what I felt was a reasonable bid, considering the worst case scenario (at least I would have an extra mag and a good bit of parts, if it didn't work).

I won it for $138, plus shipping &ffl (still came out around $180 all said and done). Contacted the seller and asked about the "may not work", and that was their stock way of saying "we don't know for sure, looks fine but we won't take it back".

10 yds, 50 rds of Fiocchi FMJ- I had it shipped to the FFL the range I belong to, so I stripped it, made sure it wasn't fouled or bone dry, to check for function and basic accuracy. I shot rather quickly, wanted to see if it would jam up or malfunction- it ran great.

I tried a few rounds at the little target in the upper left, but hadn't settled into it with the pistol yet, so those look bad.
I then went center mass, didn't really focus on bullseye, but just concentrated on going center mass and firing quickly, and then as soon as I reacquired the sights, firing again. Basically, did a few magazine dumps, to see if the gun would shoot fast and true.

Here's the result, and my group tightened the more mags I shot (as I got more used to it)

Default Browning Gold Fusion & 4014

I would have posted "12 gauge Browning Gold Fusion" (LNIB), which I got a great deal on not long ago online, and which is a great shooter, plus I have Gold Superlight and love it so couldn't pass the second one up.

But then recently saw this mint LNIB 4014 and had to have it. I guess I like having 2 of each of my favorite guns.

My most recent firearm purchase is a M&P C.O.R.E. in 9mm. Why? Old eyes were making it difficult to track the front sight of my 1911s at speed during USPSA matches, and I had a boatload of previously loaded 9mm ammo. Mounting a red dot on the pistol makes it getting A Zone hits easier. It took a while to learn to "find the dot" thought. Now that I've had cataract surgery, the 1911s are more appealing.

Springfield Armory stainless 1911. Got it new for a $557 bid on GunBroker. Bought it to convert to 460 Rowland.

Mine was a CZ52 about 3 weeks ago. I traded for one about 3yrs ago and foolishly sold it off a few months later as I was just getting into reloading and wasn't ready in my experience to tackle reloading the 7.62x25. About a year ago i got the bug and wanted to replace it.

I've been working on collecting some older CZ's as some of my great great ancestors came from over there to America. Every CZ I've laid my hands on feels like a custom fit glove. I've even debated selling my AR's I built to represent what I was issued years ago to get a Czech Point VZ 58 in addition to the vz2008 I own.

A super magnum 11-87. i have a 3 inch for 20 something years and about 10k shots now, and i like it a lot. Not much use for the 3,5 inch, but the price was too good to pass. Mint condition and serial# 18xxx, so that makes it either first, or second year of production back in the turn of this century. i had read lots of negatives about it not cycling low brass, but i guess i got one that works, since it sings through the 1,1/8 ounce low brass dove shells. :-)

My last gun I bought is a PSA AR also. I got the PA10 though. We are planning on moving back to Texas or Oklahoma next year and I figured I should have a hog gun.

Default Today I got some kind of.....

AR 15 style 22 in trade for an old boat.

My son wanted a Springfield XDII and I agreed. Beautiful gun.
Now if I can just learn to shoot it.''

I had a chance at a nice Sig,

Before that was an S&W mod 36 and 38. Both good buys.

This Swedish m/41. Numbers matching and an unusually clear Swedish AGA42 scope. Built on a 1912 Carl Gustafs m/96 the m/41 series were arguably the most accurate bolt action military sniper rifles of the 20th Century. Got a deal I couldn't refuse and my m/41B needed a companion.

Even had the original Swedish unit disk on it.

I just purchased a 908 from a member here. The gun is in excellent condition and was offered at a fair price.

Why did I buy it? Well that's a good question as I have plenty of 3G Smith carry guns but I do like the "value line" guns and have 915's, 411's, and 457's so adding the 908 is getting something that there will be no more of.

I could have bought a 9mm Shield for less, but I'll take quality over price any day.

I purchased a Shield 40, a Shield 45 and an M&P 15-22 over the last three months. Why? Because the were all on sale and the Shields had rebates. Also because I like M&Ps and S&W has a lifetime warranty. Now I need an M&P 15 Sport II.

I picked up a new Victory this weekend. I certainly didn't need it as I own a model 41 and a couple of Ruger MKII target pistols as well. I just have always had an attraction for .22 semi-auto target pistols. The purpose of the purchase was to use the Victory as a casual plinker that would be accurate but inexpensive and something that I wouldn't have to be super anal about cleaning. This pistol has been quite a surprise as to it's accuracy and reliability. I'm really liking it alot!

I just purchased an S&W Model 13-2 with 3" barrel that's been fired but doesn't show it very much.

Why did I buy it?
It's a 3" S&W
Great Condition
Fair Price
Never Owned a Model 13
I've bought from the seller before
Can easily sell if need be
Fit's in nicely with my other 3" Smiths

My last purchase accomplished one of my 2017 goals; to finish out getting a Model of 1905 from each decade; 1910's to 1940's.

This Model of 1905 change 4 (shipped in March of 1939) did that for me.

I now have the revolver
