Default 3rd Generation .45 Auto Magazine Value

What is the value of a 3rd gen .45 auto magazine for a 4506? The local gun show had a vendor hawking them for $60 each used. I seem to recall these being $20-30 each.

I made a face at he price and the vendor's comment to me was find a better price and he would be happy to buy the magazines. 10 aisle over a guy was selling them for $40 each supposedly brand new but without the packaging.

The magazine for the 4506 is the most abundant/common of the 45 magazines. That 20-30 is normal for the gun shows here in Ohio. Even the 'specialty' 45 mags for such as CS45 and TSWs' don't sell for as high as 60.

Gun shows used to be the place for a deal- now they seem to be a place where excessively high priced items are waiting for an unsuspecting buyer to pay top dollar-remember due to the internet , hard to find stuff is now easier to find than it used to be-and more available.
I find the vendors to be somewhat greedy-and although they made 50,000 of this item... MINE is special.
Regards
Larry

Gun shows here in NE Ohio are still the place for deals. Tables aren't free and have to be paid for, vendors that travel to the show-motels have to be paid for. Berea show this upcoming weekend(1st warm weather show of the season),as soon as the magazine suppliers see me-they pull out magazines they've been saving for me(at prices lower than to the public coming in).

For anybody interested I know a shop where there are 3 used ones that could be had for around $15-$20 apiece (+ shipping). Probably around $50 + shipping for all 3. Send me a PM if you want more info.

EDIT: Stopped in today to confirm and they said $20 apiece + $5.28 tax if buying all 3. Add $7 for a flat rate shipping box and you've got 3 for just under $73

Sure wish I could find 3 of the 7 rounders for my 457 for that price.

EDIT #2: Mags spoken for by OP - Barr1

Check Midway. Every so often they have new original SW mags for sale at a much better price.

I've recently bought a few off ebay. The last one was NOS in the package, for $35.

I see plenty of 45xx series mags that are what I consider over priced at gun shows I smile and walk away when I see folks expecting a premium for them. They are not that common but they are not rare either. I buy the black follower models when ever I see them for $30 or less, maybe a couple every year. I just bought 2 eight and 2 seven rounders @ $25 each in Tulsa.

Since the magazine is discontinued by S&W, the prices are eventually bound to rise much like the 10mm magazine.

Unfortunately they raised the price to $29.99 each. I wish I could have got them for $20 each.

Don't 4506 magazines fit a 457?
