Default SMiths that do 469 action work

I my past life, 35 years ago, I was a rangemaster and armorer at our department that carried S&W 59s and 439s. We would break them down, smooth them up, and generally improve trigger pull.

That was too many years ago for me to try to do it on my 469. SInce the 49 was nearly mint, it has had very few rounds through it. I am sure if I fired 2 or 3 thousands rounds through it, it would smooth out some.

as evidenced by the fliers in my target group, the trigger needs some work. Are there any smiths out there that still work on vintage S&W autos. Also, I don't want to break the bank when I get it worked on.

If not, are there any good youtube videos besides Bluebelly2's that would refresh my memory?

I'm not sure where you are in the Sierras but the best I know for what you want is a retired CHP officer, Jim Vanhorn who is the gunsmith at The Sacramento Armory on Greenback Lane in Citrus Heights. He's only there on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Jim is very knowledgeable and reasonable in price. His grandfather and father were gunsmiths before him. He's done a trigger job or two on my 1911s and re-barreled one of my S&W revolvers. He's a very skilled individual.

Frank Glenn in Arizona could probably do it.

I think he started with custom 1911 building, but he is also a master revolver smith too. So I imagine he could handle just about anything.

His website has been down for a while, but you can still get his contact info online though.

I've got a 3913NL with an action job by "T" (Teddy Jacobson) that is very smooth.
