Default Co-worker has a 4054

A co-worker of mine just came into a 4054. The history on this pistol is known, it was a friend of his who bought it and never cared for it. It might have a total of 200 rounds through it, no box and two mags. Purchased and put into a drawer all these years.

He offered it to me, but I have been on a bit of a buying spree of late and would likely just flip it here anyway.

Anybody interested I can put you in touch with him. I have no dog in this, just trying to put this rare pistol in the hands of somebody who would appreciate it.

What is he asking for the 4054? Would the transfer be between FFLs or a private to FFL? Have you seen the gun? If so, how would you grade its finish and bore?

I don't know what he will want for it. I told him there would likely be a S&W enthusiast here who would appreciate it.

Yes he will ship between FFL's.

I have seen the gun and it is in almost new condition. The original owner put 50 rounds or so and put it away. Mike put another 100 or so through it when he got it.

I bought one couple of months ago. I believe only 154 made (there are others who own one on this forum). Mine was about 85%. Came with 3 magazines.

This SW4054 will be leaving Motown for the birthplace of Pepsi Cola soon. Thanks Ethang for posting this thread and putting me in touch with the seller. -David

The SW4054 has departed Motown for Beartown (Pepsi birthplace) via UPS. The seller (second owner) reports firing one mag of 7 rounds and one mag of 6 rounds. The first owner fired one box, fifty rounds, before selling the gun. Should be near perfect.

Well, I picked up my new used SW 4054 yesterday. I was about to get into my car when the clerk called me back into the store saying that an ATF agent in the store wanted to see my purchase.

I asked the clerk how often ATF agents show up and he replied about once every year or two unannounced. The agent appreciated seeing this scarce pistol up close.

I appreciate Ethang for putting me in touch with his friend Mike and I appreciate the fact that Mike wanted to part with this pistol at a nice price. A win-win!
