Welcome to the Forum,
Your Model 41 dates to about 1979. I use CCI Standard Velocity ammunition in mine and most here would suggest the same. If you can't find CCI, any standard velocity ammunition will be fine.

Your husband has inherited one of the finest target pistols ever made. You should only use CCI standard velocity ammunition with the 41. Current manufactured magazines will work with your 41. Take it to the range, shoot it and enjoy it.

I agree with those above who recommended CCI Standard Velocity, but would also recommend Aguila SE (Standard Vel 40 gr), SK, Ely Black Box or Tenex. The 41 is designed around a Standard Velocity cartridge. All the HV and 1250 fps and up will not shoot as well.

Definitely CCI-SV ammo and all the mags made even to-day will work in this Beautiful Gun. Your Husbands Dad had extremely good taste in his firearms to own one of these. We all hope that your husband has many many Great years shooting this pistol as this gun is made to virtually last forever.

Hot Coco:
The M41 looks to be pristine & I doubt it was shot much. While the newer Magazines are made to fit the older guns you might want to stick with vintage Mag's that had the metal follower rather than the newer ones with plastic followers. IMHO the older ones were made a bit better and function all the time. Some shooters have reported problems with some of the newer ones. Plus, it would be nice to keep the original type Mag's for that era M41. You can usually find them in local gun shops, on ebay or at gun shows. Just a suggestion
Either way, you've got one of the most accurate and well made .22LR pistols made. Enjoy it!
The advise about using CCI standard velocity .22 LR ammo is right on!

I actually purchased two NEW M41 Mag's last week AGAINST my own advise - how's that for poetic justice! Neither one worked and had to fiddle futz with them for over an hour to get them to seat and drop when released properly. IMHO the new ones are cheapened, poor quality compared to the originals. I posted a thread about this a few days ago. Can't believe I actually did that!!!! Must have had a brain freeze that day!

I have an older model 41 and it works well with CCI standard velocity and I have both old and new magazines and both types work fine. The older magazines with metal followers tend to sell for a lot more money than new ones. Good luck and enjoy shooting the model 41 they are really fun pistols to shoot.

The Model 41 was intended to win matches right out of the box. While standard velocity CCI ammunition is probably a good bet, it may be a little more beneficial to take a box of a number of different brands of standard velocity .22 long rifle ammunition to see which brand produces the smallest groups in this particular gun. You have a beautiful gun that appears to have been well kept.
