Default Model 41's Date Coincidence??

I purchased a used Model 41 extendable front sight gun from a local LGS in the late 1980's
The gun, if I read the chart correctly, shipped in 1972,,,

After purchasing,
I found out that the extendable front sight made the gun more collectible, so,
I went looking for another.

Within a month, I found the second used Model 41,, at another LGS,,

Even though the second one did not have an extendable front sight,, I ended up paying the exact same amount for the second one, as the first,, $400 OTD.

The extendable sight gun serial number prefix is A19,,,
the other Model 41 serial number prefix is A21,,,.
So, from what I read, both guns shipped in 1972.
Did I get that right?

I haven't seen that many Model 41's, new or used, for sale in Roanoke.
Is finding same year guns a common coincidence??

The real coincidence is getting both guns for $400! Both were a steal.

As usual, you would need a letter of authenticity to confirm ship dates - many are the examples of close serial numbers that shipped months to years apart.

Bet you made a few dollars from spending the $800 about 30 years ago . Enjoy!

Thanks for the comments guys!!

I figure I got a good price, but, when you factor in inflation,,
the actual price of each gun was $814,,, so, that dings the super-deal status,, a little.

I have enjoyed owning them for almost 30 years,,
that should count for something.

The first couple years that I owned them,, both were actually shot quite a bit.

After I found my first Model 629,, and Dillon re-loader, the Model 41 plinking slowed WAY down,,
