Default M41 spring Kit

Recently got a 41 and am not fimilar with the fine points of them.
I am told that putting a spring kit in for common hi speed 22s
is all that is necessary to use this ammo without damaging the
gun. Is this 100% true? I'm not a auto fan but could shoot this
gun a lot more with common ammo. It's hard for me to lay down
M17, but I suppose it's just what you are use to.

Replacing the rebound spring and/or the hammer spring will allow the spring(s) to absorb the greater force exerted by the hotter ammo, but I'll ask why you'd want to. Standard velocity .22 ammo is pretty easy to come by - basically anything around 1080 fps., and sometimes it's cheaper too. Most often, it also more accurate. You don't need to buy $10 a box Ely, CCI standard velocity seems to work very well in these guns.

So far have only shot a box of PMC Target, which is lousy out of
anything and CCI standard vel. Have thousands of rds of 22 HV
obtained before the panic. Other than Remington sub-sonic my
stocks of Target and St. Vel are thin. Got 6 boxes of CCI for about
$4 a box.

The Model 41 certainly doesn't need the beating that high velocity ammo would inflict on it. If I where you sell the high velocity ammo then purchase CCI SV ammunition you won't regret it nor will your Model 41.

I totally agree with Kidcom as well CCI-SV ammo and nothing else. Its the closet ammo to Perfection there is for these model of target guns.
