Can someone tell me how to determine the date of manufacture of my Model 622 with serial # TCS2430?

My best guess is 1988 but if you have the pistol's original box with intact end label on the box that would tell us more!

Some folks have said a phone call to S&W can get them a ship date: (800) 331-0852

There's always a factory letter request. $75 these days.

I made the phone call to customer service. Provided model and serial number. I was given the ship date within a minute or two. Free.
