Default 5946 on its way

Just sent the payment & emailed my LGS’s FFL to Precision Armory this afternoon; will soon be receiving a 5946 with 4, 15 RD mags. I think this makes my 6th or 7th 3rd generation S&W pistol.

The funny thing is, when I was younger (and more...immature-hate to say dumber), I absolutely could not stand the wrap-around plastic grips on these fine pistols, and didn’t appreciate them for what they were/are. As I’ve aged, I’ve realized what I missed.

Nothing is better (or worse) than the anticipation from the moment the transaction is completed to the moment it arrives at your FFL.

Congratulations! Be sure to post pics.

Worry not my friend!! you have seen the light early!! These pistols were about half a century ahead of their time, so this leaves roughly another 25 years before people find out about them! Even better news, they are built to be around for much longer than that, and right now they are found in low prices too, as opposed to their prime!!! (usually down to half of what a "toy story plastic" goes for). My personal experience with these whenever someone sees them at the range is:
-what is that?
-a third generation smith & wesson
-can i shoot it?
-sure!
(bam bam bam bam...)
-wow!!! this is awesome!!! where can i find one?
-yeah, good luck...

Personally, i think that 3rd gems will be phased out only when guns will be in the 40 watts range...

OK, I'll ask the obvious question.......how much did it run you ???
(recent-purchase threads like these help provide at least a general value range for everyone reading it....but only if we're told what it sold for. )
