Default 4506 and 4506-1 recoil spring question

I've probably seen the answer to my question here on the forum before but since I only had my trusty 4506 no dash I didn't pay much attention. Recently, I was very fortunate to find a4506-1. Upon cleaning I discovered that the recoil spring in my new -1 is significantly longer than the one in my no dash. Is this normal and proper? I want to make sure that both guns have the proper spring. Thanks guys for any reply.

I'm editing to ask another question. Where can I get a new trigger play spring? I've checked the usualy sources for parts but have not been able to find one in stock.

Don't know the answer to your question, but you could just replace both of them with Wolff springs and be done with it. Check them out at gunsprings.com

The standard 4506 recoil spring is part #20161000. The shorter wadcutter recoil spring for lighter target loads is part #20071000. The recoil spring pack that contains both is part #19302000.

Thanks for the replies. I guess I've been unknowingly using the lighter recoil spring in my no dash for a few years now without issues. However, I do have new springs and I will replace them with the heavier one.

Regarding the trigger play spring, I see the Midway springs are for TSW models and they do not list the 4506 or 4506-1. Are they the same?

In the last parts list I downloaded ('13), the recoil spring for the 4566TSW was factory part number 895240000 $1.45 X RECOIL SPRING

The standard 4506-X recoil spring was factory part number 201610000 $1.45 X RECOIL SPRING - STANDARD, and the "wadcutter" recoil spring was part number 200710000 RECOIL SPRING - WADCUTTER
