Default 3914 DAO vs 3953

I own and love my 3953 with it's consistent 8 lb trigger. Does anyone know how the trigger on the former NYPD 3914 DAO compares ?

I own both and consider the 3914 DAO a bit more revolver like.
Also, the much maligned second strike capability makes dry fire practice more realistic.

Matt,
Could you guess a trigger pull in lbs? Is it any better than the DA pull on the traditional DA/SA ?

My 3914DAO trigger pull is heavier than the DA trigger on the DA/SA 3rd gens that I own. Not horrible but strong. I will try to take a measurement later tonight. I imagine the mainspring could be changed out for something lighter from Wolff.

The same thing. My trigger gauge only goes to 8#, which isn't high enough to measure it.

Going to a lighter mainspring makes it a tad lighter, but still long.

According to S&W parts list, mainspring, trigger, drawbar, hammer strut, sear, sideplate, etc., etc, all the same.

I gotta think, 3914DAO pull must be pretty close to 3914 DA pull.

What do you think?

John

Default Little to no difference on trigger pull

Yes, best as I can tell, on my two, at least according to my "uncalibrate trigger finger".

I transitioned from Revolvers to DAO so I have no experience with TDA.
