S&W 459 ROUND TRIGGER GUARD 2nd GEN
Picked it up today.
Beautiful blue luster finish, with a just a slight nick on back strap grooves.
No adjustable winged rear sight. Glock like yellow rear sight.
Ramp front sight grooved yellow.
Round trigger guard and lanyard loop? (rectangle)
Serial # A82953X
Not much on the internet.
Except they were produced 1980-89.
Can't post pics.
PM me for email or texted pics.

459 was 2nd Gen of 59. There was an all steel version 559 and a stainless 659. Double stack 9mm goodness.

After having the 459 for a few days I can see why a lot of folks here prefer the blued S&W auto's over the stainless.
Just something about them.

I carried this one on duty for several years. At the time our issued gun was the 439. For those of us on SWAT we could carry the 459 on duty if we bought our own gun. I carried this one in uniform until I went into plain clothes. I was then issued a 469 which I didn't carry. My 459 had been tuned and was a lot better shooter than the 469 so I continued carrying the 459. I carried this 459 until we went to the 3rd gen S&W.

I like the factory curved insert. I have one of those but no 1st-2nd gen to put it on!

I've heard those arched backstraps are highly sought after and bring pretty good money compared to what they initially sold for. I think I paid about $20 for mine.

What would be a fair price today for that part?
