Default 559-educate me please

I have a chance to purchase a 559. Not being familiar with S&W semi-autos, I could use some help. What should I look for/be aware of? What's a fair price range, with some holster wear and bluing loss, assuming mechanically sound?
Thank you, for any help!

559 were the All Steel version of the 2nd Gen. They are the scarcest variant so may bring a premium. I’ve got the 459 w/blue alloy frame and the all stainless 659 so I’ve kept a watch for and have never seen one in person. Value to me would be between $350-450 depending on mags, box etc.

Every time I think I found a S&W 2nd or 3rd gen that is collectible I get on this forum and there are always one or two models that I find out are truly scarce, compared to what I brought home.
I buy a 457 Zanders two-tone, find out the 457D is the top dog, buy a CS45, and the CS9 is more rare.
And now the latest nut buster, my 459 when the 559 is the one to own.

I don't want to know where my 3913 LS ranks.
Thanks TNZ71.

About 8,000 made. 1983-1984. Model 659 introduction ended the carbon steel 559 production. 559 is a good solid 2nd Generation pistol.
I bougt a nice one a couple years ago for $389.
A NIB with docs and tools is going to be in the $500-$600 range.
Everything else depends on condition.

Approximately 8500 of the blued version and 1800 of the nickel version were produced. They are hard to find.
No too long ago a Blued NIB sold for a $1000 on GunBrokers. If you do a search there you will see how scarce they are.

It was gone when I went back. It was probably 85%, with bluing loss where youd expect it. They were asking $400.
