Default Do 2 .45s = a S&W 90??

When I got back into .45s after a few years caliber hiatus; I wanted a compact to go with my new Shield and something smaller than a Sig 220.

And as I really like my 3rd gens, I found a 4516-1. Now I thought it might be heavy....but after a few days carrying....I discovered it really was heavy.

So off I went to find a compact M&P. And I found a nice one.

Here they are....sorta bookends encompassing all the best in S&W from all-steel to steel and plastic.

I'll have them both to the range tomorrow now, with the new M&P, I can do a side-by-side comparison.

I like my 4516, but have sent my M&P .45 down the road. No issues, I just prefer the 3rd gen.

Try a 4513 (or in my case, a 4553TSW.) The aluminum frame does help. Still not as light as my Glock 36 but with a good belt and a R Grizzle holster, it is certainly manageable.

I got my 4516-2 a lot of years ago to carry off duty when not in the city.
Great pistol, too heavy for me to carry off duty...
