Well i purchased the 52,Then went to shoot, it sort of functioned until
it began to have hammer fall. Come to find out that some one had been in the gun. The bottom lug has been played with. as to lengthen the dwell
time. So the slide moves to far forward 1/16 inch thus not allowing internals to function properly not allowing the hammer to reset.
I will try to see when clarke customs will make a run on these barrels.
Thanx for the info.

Maybe you can get the bottom lug welded up and recut.
That was the old school approach for 1911 barrels.

They do come up now and then, Numrich is most likely out. Ebay is an other option, I have seen a few there. I don't know if Clark's has made them yet or not. I am on the list when they do, but have not been notified.

I'm lucky in that I have a spare barrel as they are really hard to find.

This seems to be "the" model 52 problem.
Barrel replacement.
Everybody knows that Clark is supposed to build some , but when ?
Hell, I would buy one just to save the stock barrel
wear and tear.
Come on Clark, can't ya' feel the love in the room ?

Ummm, do you truly believe this is a rampant problem?
I'm sure on occasion someone bulges a barrel (usually inept handloads) but I'm always scouring our site for 52 discussions and no... folks generally do not need new barrels.
Clark? Well, if they actually do go ahead and make them, fantastic. But let's not forget that this rumor that Clark was going to make 52 barrels is now years old.

Well I did have a squib that cycled the action and I did not catch it. Bulged the barrel. I was lucky and found a new one that I bought. I called Clark today, and the blanks are on the way. About three months before they will have finished barrels for sale. They will "roll" a bulged barrel, and I am going to send mine in. When they have the new ones I will buy one as well. I do believe that there will be a market for new barrels.
