By STRICT logic, I don't think it does. In this case, the seller told me who he bought it from, although I have already forgotten who it was. In practical terms, my uneducated guess would be that only a complete ****ing idiot would sell a stolen gun on an FA-10. I'm not talking about the guy who sold it to me, but all previous sellers. I would suspect that most MA residents wouldn't even sell a legally unregistered gun on an FA-10.
BTW, I don't see how ANY conventional transfer, except perhaps from a pawn shop, would insure that the gun was not a stolen gun. Do you have any information that a routine purchase of a used gun from a brick-and-mortar FFL is proof that the gun was not stolen?

You can indeed sell an unregistered gun, one brought in from another state by a person moving here with guns "not on the roster".
That's way off topic for this thread, but I have a Bersa, perhaps the only one in MA, that I bought from someone who moved into MA.

I did buy a stolen gun once. Bought it from a pawn shop, It was brought in and I bought it 2 days later only to find out it was stolen after I checked on it. The pawn shop gave me my money back. Being retired LEO I check all firearms I purchase. And it could be just fine one day only to have it reported as stolen some months later.

Here in Canada I have the buyer come to the house and then I call the RCMP. WE both give them our license No's over the phone and tell them what we are doing. Lets say I am selling a handgun to the other party. The RCMP will issue a transfer permit to his name which takes aroud 2-3 weeks. We are both sent copies at which time I can legally give him the gun and he can give me the money. I don't hand it over until the gun has been cleared by the Redcoats. They know every stolen gun in Canada as long as the owner has called the Police and reported it stolen.

"I'd rather know I'm safe when I do a transaction no matter where I am. I have nothing to hide. Unfortunitly, the other states are going the way of Massachusetts. I can still walk into a shop, put down my money and walk out with said firearm. No 10, 15 or 20 day waiting period. By the way, try and buy a gun or carry in the states while your on the road with your comedy routine."

By the way: Great find on the Model 41!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Let's get back on topic. We need a lot more pictures of the two guns, and don't forget the extra mag.

Craig 19 its not that bad when you gauranteed that the gun is not stolen and registered properly. Once you are used to the system up here it works quite well in keeping the guns out of the hands of the folks who should not have them as well.
