Opinios please. Mod. 915, aluminum alloy frame and +P ammo?
I have no plans to use +P ammo with my 915. But I am curious.
Would +P cause excessive wear on the 915's aluminum alloy frame?
It seems to me like it might, but I'm by no means sure.
Thanks.

Ammo that is rated +P will cause added wear, when compared with non-plus P rated ammunition. If you consider added, unnecessary wear "damage", then yes, it will damage the frame and other parts.
Another way to say it is.... wear is inevitable regardleass of what ammo you use. If you use heavy loads, you will see increased wear and tear.

Thank you for a clear, definitive answer.

What Armorer951 said. You can shoot +P or even +P+ in your model 915, but doing so will accelerate wear. Personally, with modern bullets, I just don't see the need to beat up an aluminum alloy receiver with such ammo.

Use it....
Use it sparingly. Popping off a couple every now and then won't hurt it. Might hurt you though.
I've got an alloy mod 38 and even normal loads get your attention. If you aren't using it for carry, Hogues or Pachmehr grips would be more comfortable.
