Default Think I just got hooked!

It all started with a buddy of mine telling me a guy he knows is downsizing. I got in with said gentleman and scheduled a time to see his wares. He mostly had rifles with a few handguns. The 5904 was in a pouch on the safe door. I was not familiar with the Gen 3's at all. The closest I ever got to the S&W semi's was a Model 39 that my father had back in the day. Anyway, the 5904 intrigued me and since there's a small market for "prohibs" here in Canada, I was able to secure it for a small sum. I then started to do more research on the Gen 3's and started to really like them. I put out a WTB ad for a 5906 or it's variants. So today, a 5906 came in the mail. So happy! Can't wait to shoot them. Here's my new set of twins ( I have a Model 19 and 66 snub noses that are my original twins):

Congratulations on your 3rd gens, you made a great choice. Looking for info about my first pistol a 469 is how I found S&W forum. I went back to the LGS a couple weeks later and bought my 5906.

Thanks guys! Gen 3's are not very plentiful here in Canada, so the pickings are slim. Can't wait to shoot them both. I know Safariland carries a duty holster for the 5906, but does anyone have any other other recommendation for a holster that has some retention. Looking at CQB stuff. Blackhawk, Kydex, and Uncle Mike's?

My last duty weapon was a 659. Heavy but a real work horse. Never ever never fails. Love all the 59's. Good find

I use a couple of leather DeSantis holsters - A Yaqui Slide 023BADAZ0 (fits most DA autos) and their Mini Slide 086TA83ZO (fits 59-04, -06, -46; 40-13TSW, -53TSW; 39-13TSW, 39-14DAO).

I carried a model 19 for the last 24 years on the job so I found the DAO pistols easier and more accurate for me. You might want to keep watch for a good DAO gen3.

Here's a chart every accumulator needs to have bookmarked:

You only have a problem once you admit to yourself and others; or, have to buy a big safe.

My main carry is a 5906. If I run out of rounds, I can just use it as a club.
