my 4506
Hi all, I received my 4506 a few days ago and I find it superb a real gun not a plastic gadget like many current pistols, however two small things worry me, when I made my first shots with, it has jammed several times (lack of ejection).
Second problem I find that the adjustment of the slide lack of tightening .. not very good for accuracy! can you tell me about the probable causes? because the gun does not look worn .
tank you all

Both symptoms you describe sound like a new recoil spring is needed. About $2.00.

A weak recoil spring can cause feeding and ejection issues. A weak magazine spring can also cause problems. Another thing, and this was the case with the one I had, is a build up of powder fouling in the extractor channel. I would recommend cleaning the channel and the firing pin tunnel with a spray cleaner, something like Gun Scrubber.

Service packs are available from Wolff springs Type 1 and type 2 with extra power mag spring. I have one for my 5906 , have used the recoil , mag and mag release spring. A three mag spring pack is also available

Check your ejector and make sure the tip is intact. Also check your extractor for chips on the edge of the face.
A new recoil spring is probably a good idea too. Especially with an older pistol with unknown round count. Good luck. Regards 18DAI

Of course nothing is perfect, but he Model 4506 is built like a tank. it is the AK 47 of 45 ACP handguns. If there is a problem it is likely wear on a replaceable part as described above.

Wolff spring kit
The 4506 will feed empty cases - Tune it Up!
Don’t worry about the slide play. The 3rd Gen S&W pistols were built for reliability first and accuracy second. The 4506 will be plenty accurate on paper.

Oh, yes, in the brief time I had one, it would reliably feed empties. Quite the parlor trick.
