Default S&W 1911 E series mags

Hi all gonna buy a 1911 E series pistol (108482). Are the 19110 S&W 8 round mags the same ones that come with it when new? I’m confused as I think they’re the stainless ones, but different searches say blue in description while others say stainless. So, are the supplied ones stainless, and are the 19110 stainless or blue? Thanks Ron

I emailed S&W and their reply was.......

The part number for the magazines are 422640000. They are also stainless steal.

I found that the #191100000 was the same product. In case
anyone else needs to know.
Thanks Ron

To be honest, I use Wilson mags primarily & have never an issue. Not to say factory mags are bad, I simply have confidence in Wilson mags

I have the S&W 1911 sc and the 8 round magazines are challenging to get seated with a round in the chamber. I use the Wilson Combat (47 series) 7 round and prefer those to the factory mags. Not saying the factory magazines are bad, I just prefer the WC 7 rounders.....

This is interesting because I have a 5" SW1911PC and it will only function consistantly with OEM S&W magazines. I have several Wilson Combat 47D's and they are a hit and miss with this pistol.

I buy the least expensive 1911 magazines I can find: never over $10.00 each.

In the last 45 years, premium brand magazines have never proved superior to the less expensive ones for me.

Keep in mind that 1911 magazines aren’t forever accessories: they wear out, get bent, get lost and otherwise go out of service. That’s just the nature of magazines.

I wouldn’t give a nickel more for 8 round 1911 magazines as compared to 7 round magazines.

The extra round offers no benefit except in zombie fantasies. I don’t entertain zombie fantasies.

I have used the following mags in my S&W 1911: Wilson, Chip McCormick Power Mags and standard mags, Mecgar, and ACT Mags. They all work just fine, as do standard Colt and GI mags.

I have to ask
Does it matter if a mag is stainless or blue?
I see no advantage.

In theory, blued mags can rust so stainless should be a better long term solution.

I have a 1911SC as my daily carry. It runs like a top with everything but the 10rnd mags.
