Default Model 41 Field Barrel ID Help

Hello,

These images were supplied to me, apologies for the quality.

I am looking for a field barrel for a Model 41 but I don't know enough to ID a real one from a cut down job.

Appreciate the help.

The Field Barrels were only made in one length I believe which was either the 5" or 5.5" model. Plus they were a older design as well which means it should be the real good dark Blue stain on them also.

Correct 5" - third variation (has weight inserted under bbl and straight cut).

First series were made with out under barrel weight drilling and lazy"&".
Second series with convex plug.
Fourth series with no plug and standard "&"

Check length as they varied from 4 7/8" to 5 1/8"

There was a story on here about the making of the Field Barrels years ago. They were slightly damaged longer barrels just cut down so they could be re-used as they may have been slightly defective in much longer lengths. To me it was Good use of scrap parts otherwise.
