I’m thinking $350 - $450 if you can find the factory grips. The plastic pearl grips detract from the value.

According to my book, ken158 is right on the money. Pun intended.

Sorry, whatever books you gents are looking at are well off thw the mark on a 539. The 539 is a scarce variant, carbon steel frame and blue finish.
The OP says "SS 9mm Model 539" and I'm not sure exactly what he means because "SS" usually means stainless, and the 639 is stainless but the 539 is not. However, if it is shiny then it may be a nickel plated 539 which makes it even MORE scarce.
In high condition with original box? He kay see as high as $800-$1000 in an auction with interested bidders.

The Woodlawn Boys (David Carroll & Assoc.) sold one on Gunbroker a few months ago in new in box condition for something like $1086 + shipping.

I'm not saying the 539 is a prize but I wouldn't sell mine for $400. Locations can bring variables in prices but IMHO the 539 isn't a give away gun. Heavy but solid shooter.

The Model 539 was not stainless steel. It would be either blued carbon steel or nickel plated carbon steel, but not stainless. The 539 was produced in numbers far less than the aluminum receiver 439. As for a real world value of a nickel plated 539 that is like new and includes its box and papers... yeah, $800-$1000 to a collector. But, the fake pearl stocks actually decrease it's value, so around $800.
