Wishlist fulfillment
Like most folks who are gun enthusiasts, I maintain an informal wishlist of guns I'd love to have if/when the opportunity ever arises at a time when the wallet would allow. Today I scratched one gun off the list.
I found an absolutely mint 3913 NL -- and when I say mint, I mean there was zero sign it had ever been fired beyond a slight fouling smear in the bore that could have come from factory test firing. A bit of haggling and I was out the door for $375.
Field-stripped it, lubed everything (it was dry as a bone), and stepped outside to my backyard range. Fired a mixed bag (brands and bullet weights) of 100 rounds, showing a decided accuracy preference for 115 gr. loads but functioning flawlessly with everything.
Sometimes the blind hog finds an acorn!

That pistol is an early example - make sure it has an updated grip (with the post-recall dimple).

About 6 years ago, I found one in almost new condition in a small shop close to the town where I worked. $400. I hesitated a few days and lost it. I've been looking for an LS ever since. A friend with whom I work has a daughter whose primary carry is one. He once said she'd consider selling it to me at a very reasonable price, but he was perhaps only being polite to offer it to me. I don't think it was a possible seduction ploy. The offer was never repeated, though.
I especially like the gray grips and the slanted for'd frame. (Does anyone know a good reason to call it a dust cover? That's hardly an area where dust would collect.)
I'm envious of your purchase. I hope you and the lady have a long and fulfilling relationship.
