My Victory has been working great but after cleaning this last time I've had 2 light strikes with the round not firing. After re-inserting the round it would then fire. I was using CCI mini mags and CCI standard velocity shells. Only thing I did different in the cleaning process this time is spray the firing pin area with Tetra Gun Action Plaster. I'm wondering if this product could gum up the works and cause this problem. I had 2 of these light strikes in about 75 shots. Do love the Victory!!

I had a problem with mine early on with standard velocity rounds. Now with over 2,000 rounds downrange it will eat anything I put in it.

I no longer use Thunderbolts as they leave considerable residue.

When I first had the ability to buy and shoot guns regularly, I was freakishly determined to clean them every time they were shot. I grew up in a family that had one rifle and one shotgun and to my knowledge they were never cleaned. I have met and shot with many pro shooters over the years and learned they often don't clean their guns every time they're used. They may clean or wipe down certain areas but not the whole gun. I was also influenced by a squad member's fate at a National Championship. He and his "gunsmith" took his gun apart and cleaned it the night before the match. His gun would not run the first time he tried to shoot a stage. Always test fire any gun you've cleaned before you depend on it!

Light strikes in a semiauto .22 can come from a number of factors. Some are ammo -related -- it's not that uncommon to get ahold of a batch of .22 ammo that has primer problems, or rims that are thicker than spec. Some are gun-related, and would include such easy-to-correct causes as gunk in the firing pin channel or a chamber that is dirty or has a bit of debris in it that prevents full seating of the cartridge, while still allowing the bolt to close far enough to allow firing. In these cases, the situation sort of mimics centerfire cartridges in which the primer is not fully seated -- the first hammer blow seats the primer (the cartridge in the case of a .22), the second fires the round.

I once had a Ruger Mark II that started such shenanigans after getting a fragment of thread from a cleaning patch stuck in the front of the chamber. Once I found it and got it out, problem solved.

You've flushed the firing pin channel. Make absolutely sure the chamber is clean first, and if that doesn't help try a different batch of ammo.

I had mixed the CCI's and I'm not sure if the standard or HV shells were the problem. Have shot some of the Thunderbolts and as you say they are dirty. The Thunderbolts don't group as good as the CCI's do though, haven't had any not go off when the trigger was pulled, but I hadn't used the spray cleaner when shooting those. I just don't like what people are saying about the Remingtons leading the barrel. I usually clean my pistols every 100 to 200 rounds and haven't had a problem with my Berretta 92F, M&P 40 shield, FNS-9 or my SD40VE using the spray cleaner. Thought maybe the lighter spring couldn't overcome any gunk build up while the stiffer springs in the center fires have no problem functioning.
