Dropped the new target model at my gunsmith yesterday, with Tandemkross hammer & trigger.

Anybody have experience with those parts in one?
The hammer box gave me a good laugh when I opened it.
The electronics in it probably cost more than the hammer to make.

I thought about adding to my Victory but decided the cost was not worth it. I use as a target as well as competition gun. Reducing trigger a couple of #'s is not worth it to me. But I have added their grips, charging handle and mag extentions.

How does it do as a target pistol for you?

I worked with the Victory when it first came out, but not the target version.
Have not fired this one yet, Tandemkross sent an email so I thought they were worth a try.

Mine is just the basic model. No suppressor, etc. Shoots fine. About 5-600 rounds so far.

How often do you need to clean it?
How well does it hold up to disassembly?

I always clean my guns after every time I shoot them. No problems on disassembly, only one screw to remove.

No problems with threads wearing or stripping out?

Picked up the Victory from the gunsmith today.
Says the Tandemkross parts are a definite upgrade, and he was able to cut the trigger pull in half.

Advises NOT to try to follow the Tandemkross YouTube installation video.

I kinda like the pistol, wish they'd do one in a 4-inch barrel.

If anybody's interested in the new model, shot it today.
I never use target ammunition so didn't have any to bring out its full potential.
Just used five loads I had on hand.

Tried my best, could not break the one-inch barrier at 25 yards.
Three or four ejection failures, otherwise nice.

The trigger is great, the sights are very good.
I could get to liking the pistol.

The ejector issue might just be tweaking the... ejector... thingee. It seems like there is a simple fix out there, if it is what your issue is.


I have never been into handguns. I've always liked rifles. This is the first pistol that I've had this much fun using!

The malfunction was failing to kick out the empty before feeding the next round up.

The video was illustrating a stovepipe, this one here was jamming the empty still fully inside the gun, above the live round the bolt was trying to pull up out of the mag & chamber.

I wasn't sure if it was a slide velocity problem or an ejector problem, so oiled the slide & it seemed to reduce the number of occurrences.
Only happened three times during the 75-round session, twice with Federal Champion & once with Win M22.

Could be a break-in issue, probably will turn out to be the ejector.

I did this trick to a used Victory a few days ago. First time out after buying it, it would jam 1-2 times per magazine. Some jammed with a half-ejected shell, others jammed on top of the next round. After finding the ejector tweak fix - there is an older post with photos about what to tweak and how on this forum - I made the tweak and it has functioned flawlessly regardless of magazine used, who was shooting it, or what ammo I was using.

Turned an aggravating jam-o-matic into a fun gun.

If anybody's considering the new target Victory, be aware it's not really what I'd consider a "target" pistol.

I checked with S&W, the only difference between the target model & the standard model is the black sights, the thumbrest grip panels, and a polished feedramp.

Otherwise, same barrels, same triggers, same rifling, same production process.

The "target" version was largely developed to allow sales in a certain Eastern state.
It now meets their roster requirements, apparently the standard model did not.

I do prefer the black sights over the fiber-optics, so that's a bonus, and the thumbrest grip is nice. Ergonomics very good on the pistol.

Just keep in mind if you're looking for a serious target gun to take to the Olympics, don't get your expectations up too high here.

It's more of a regular plinker, just with slightly different sights & grip.

My gunsmith likes it, if that makes any difference in the selection process, and so do I.
We can both be kinda picky about modern stuff.

If I do end up keeping it, I'll do that ejector trick & probably also have the barrel bobbed to 4 inches.
Not real fond of the plastic sight base, but not much I can do about it until or unless somebody offers a steel version.

I've got the Victory Trigger and Thunder Hammer. Trigger pull is now 1.5 pounds.

This one's at about 2 something.
I wouldn't want to go quite as low as 1.5, I'd probably blow a toe off breathing too hard near the pistol.

On a related topic, I got a chance to handle a Victory PC this week. Fluted and threaded barrel, muzzle brake,better (rubber grips), oversized mag release.

Upside was that the gun "felt better" in the hand. Trigger was maybe a TAD lighter than the target model. Not by much though. Grip felt better than the standard model too.

Downside is that the mag release was really too big and easy to dump by accident. I also don't see the near 200% price increase.

The brake, mag release, and trigger can all be had from TK. I installed all of them on my Victory. I went with the thumb rest grips from Etsy though.
