Default 3rd Gen S&W Auto in .357 Sig ?

I've had the privilege to admire some fine S&W autos of Mark Calzaretta and other collector / members.

Back in the 1990s seemed to be the pinnacle of hotter than normal 3rd Gens and Performance Center goodies that are still coveted till this day.

I have only seen ONE, Performance Center 40 Caliber S&W that came with a second barrel in .357 Sig.

Does anyone have a 3rd Gen of PC either "in" .357 Sig or "with" an additional barrel kit to swap a .40 Cal S&W to .357 Sig.

I'd like to have a barrel for my 1st model Shorty 40 in .357 Sig but the times I researched I could not find a quality barrel or the listings I found were no longer available.

James,
Thanks for the advice but you're about 25 years too late. I've been there, done that, and still have my P229 in .357 Sig (which I think is superb in every respect) as well as the factory Sig Conversion kit for the P226 to .357 Sig, which I acquired about a year ago, with the fully loaded slide, barrel and 1 magazine. Both Legacy models, Made in Germany, of course.

Also, another P229 factory engraving embellished 2 tone in .357 Sig, 2 x P220s in .45 ACP, 2 x P228s in 9mm (one 2 tone), 2 x P226s in 9mm (one a 2 tone) and 3 Browning BDA P220 Sigs in.45 ACP, another in the scarcer 9mm and the other in the very rare .38 Super (all Legacy models made in Germany), plus a P230SL for good measure.

The question is ... is there a OEM Barrel or aftermarket manufacturer barrel maker that still manufactures a .357 Sig barrel for the 3rd Gen S&W 40 Caliber models, especially for the PC "Shorty" 40 ? I did catch some listing, years back, for these custom barrels and one that was advertised as ordered with a .40 S&W from the Performance Center. Sal

Email bar sto, they had one custom made years ago and may still have the mold. Do not know why you would want the possibility of messing up a shorty 40 especially with the titanium bushing on it but to each there own. I have a shorty 40 as well but have never want to shot anything but 40 cal out of it.

Good luck

Geeze, James. I just asked a very direct and simple question.

I gave a brief background on something that caught my interest, having once seen a PC 40 Cal offered with, both barrels, as built and shipped by the Performance Center.

You'd figure it the Performance Center built them or a few or even just one, it is not something as awful as putting ketchup on a sirloin steak.

You'd think I asked something that was completely out of character. 40 S&W and.357 Sig use the same magazine and slide with no alterations. The barrel is a drop in process with no or very little fitting .
