Default Grip Help for 4513tsw...which ones?

Looking for replace stock plastic grips with Hogues but am getting confused between original "cutaway" 6 round version and the newer ones taking 7 rounds, straight back (and rail, etc.).

Anyone have a model number or suggestion? (My fallback is some skate tape or Talon flat sheets and just cover the stock grips.)

Hogue didn't make grips for the six round guns, only the seven round version.

When I bought my no rail 3913TSW, it had Hogues on it, but they were the seven round version that the previous owner had trimmed to fit.

I replaced it with the stock Delrin grips and then used a Pachmyar Slip on Grip with Finger Grooves to improve the grippiness. I used the medium size and cut it down as the small one wasn't big enough around to fit on the gun.

As Gary pointed out, Hogue rubber grips are only offered for the later 7-round 4513TSW, but can be modified to fit the early 6-round pre-rail version as well.

Personally, I would recommend the grip tape option. I use this on all of my pistols, a strip on the back of the grip and one on the front strap (if it's not already checkered). It's a good, cheap way to keep the gun secured in hand, and doesn't add to any overall width of the grip.

Four cuts and a 4516 grip will fix you up.

Correct me if I'm wrong, Redcoat, but I do believe the 4513TSW you bought was the 7 + 1 version, right? Do consider the Hogue Hand-all grip sleeve pulled over top of the Delrin grips. Makes a nice secure hold and is not unattractive. There's a pic of one on my 457S that was for sale in the classifieds until today. The sleeves are only about $12, so if you try it and don't like it, you're not out a lot of cash. I'm sure the Pachmayer version that Gary mentioned is good too; I just happened to find the Hogue model at my gun store.

I can confirm that the configuration mentioned by vigil617 feels plenty good on a 4513TSW. This is my first .45 and I hope to be able to discover whether I'm able to hit anything with it in the next few days.
