Default Late 39-2 thread

Since we have all enjoyed the posts on early 9mm, lets go to the other end of the spectrum to the more common 39-2. Mr. Jinks has printed that 347,551 guns in this series were manufactured. For 27 years ending in 1981. Who has the last one? I will throw my 39-2 #702752 up as the last one, Shipped Aug. 1981.German proofs, no goodies, found at an Elks Club gun show in Pompano for $285, could not leave it there. Eats everything I feed it. And had a steel follower, no plastic. Mike

Dont forget, if an FFL dealer keeps a new gun from his distributor in the safe and sells it to you, the first legal owner, it is legally a new gun.
You would have to get a SDR or Letter from Mr. jinks to ascertain the true
ship date. Seen it before.

I recall an article where Roy was discussing how random items were removed from the vault for shipping. The longest he know of was a Mod 39-2 which shipped 13 years after it was Mfg.
