I would like to hear comments on POI and tension on the takedown screw. I installed the o ring on the screw right out of the box along with a AT3 Tactical RD 50 red dot. After zeroing and shooting for about 3 weeks all seemed well. During that time I took it apart for cleaning twice. I shot it on paper off sandbags today at 25 yds. only to find it shooting 1.5-2" left. Tightening that screw against the o ring feels a bit squishy to me so I'm wondering if I'm geting the same tension each time or if it dosn't matter that much.

I've read that the poly rail can cause these issues after sitting a bit. No personal experience though.

I did have a little issue with my original screw coming loose so asked SW to send me a ‘new’ screw which they did. It looked to have a little loctite on it vs the one i had. That new one works better than my original screw even w/ the O-ring added. Stays tight but is still easy to remove for cleaning.

No experience yet with an aftermarket sight as I am still using the stock FO ones. No issues with those though if that means anything.

I purchased my Victory a little over a year ago and it came with the "loctited" screw from the factory. Have never had an issue with it coming loose even though I've disassembled several times for cleaning.

I mounted my Vortex Viper red dot on an Outer Impact mount, https://outerimpact.com/shop/smith-w...-mountadapter/ ,and once I zeroed it, I've haven't touched it since.

Sorry for the slight sidetrack, but do you guys with the red dot find yourselves any more accurate at say 25 yds over the FO sights? Or are red dots just more of a personal preference.
Never tried them, wasnt sure if they’d help compensate for grandpa eyes and i would suddenly be more accurate at those distances lol. Thx

The red dot on my Victory is my first experience with one and I love it. Took me a bit to finally dial it in but it really does make a difference to these older eyes. Instead of lining up three things, front sight, rear sight, and target, it’s now just a matter of putting that little red dot where you want the bullet on the target.
Almost feels like cheating and I achieve groupings I never quite could with the the factory fiber optics. I did like them, but the red dot really did make a difference for me. I’m now considering getting one for my new 629 V-comp.
