Default M59 value?

Is $400 to $500 a reasonable range for an excellent plus Model 59? ( 2 mags, mid '70's production).

A friend has one he wants so sell and asked me what it was worth and I'm out of my comfort zone here.... I don't want it and don't want him to get taken....

Without seeing it? Around here, $450 would be on the north side of retail.

2 mags, box and goodies, nic. or blue? Mid $500s. Not to much room
for re-sale profit.

I would say around $450 would be a reasonable price also. Just gotta sell it right! Too many scoundrels trying to steal everything out there.

Blue, no box or papers. If it had them I would call it "like new", but fired.

They usually avg $350-$400 in my neck of the woods for a decent shooter grade. $450, if they’re in great shape. I’ve seen ‘em in the wild for as high as $800, but it would have to be ANIB for me to even consider that.

You probably should start your own discussion with a new thread rather than introducing this in his. No offense intended.

Ah......sorry....I can add that a LGS has a 59 I traded in towards a model 36, excellent condition but no box, for 429.00..... and if it hangs out much longer I'm gonna try to get it back.
