Is there any love
Is there any love for the 6946? Haven't read much about it. I have one and it is a sweet shooting handgun.....

I had a 5946. I love the smooth DAO trigger. You can't go wrong with any of the classic 3rd gen smith autos. They are soft shooting and reliable. They are fine shooting pistols. Here is a pic of my 5906 with the square trigger guard and target sights.

All I can say is that I went through a lot of trouble and a whole lot of expense in order to finally get my hands on one... and, to me, it was all worth it.
I also know where there is another one... pristine as-new in box... and although insanely over-priced and problematic to import into my loony moonbat state, I may ultimately spring for it anyway.
Is that enough to show my love?

I bought a 6946 because I just liked the feel of it... I am not shooting much for health reasons. I'm thinking of an orderly disbursal.

I really like my 6946 and like many Gen3 DAO models, it is one fine shooter. I'm amazed when I find them on auction sites going for less than $300.
It was my first DAO model in 9mm and I like to carry it in an Avenger style swede lined Hughes Holster with a sweat shield.
I prefer to carry the 6946 and leave my 6904 or 6906 for range days.

DAO pistols don't appeal to a large number of shooters IMO. Coming from a revolver background I love 'em!

I never had one but I bet I would like it if I did!
DAO would NOT bother me. My EDC K-frame snub is DAO.

Seeing as how I learned handgun shooting with a revolver, used and carried them for years, I went looking for a 6946 as a high capacity replacement for my 640-1. I still carry the 640-1 when I truly need a pocket pistol, but the 6946 is my normal, daily carry weapon.

Really like the DAO Third Generation guns. Not sure how I overlooked them for so long. For DAO, I have a couple 4553s and a 3953...all short grip / norail and a 3914 NYPD.
The 3953 is a regular carry. The 4553 are nice but still trying to find a good holster.

NCBeagle try MTR Custom leather. He just made me a couple of very nice holsters for my 4513TSW.
Good product at a fair price. Local boy too. Tell Matt I sent you. Regards 18DAI

I am pretty much a fan of the 3rd gen DAO S&Ws... These are all DAO except for the KSP 4566TSW which is decocker-only.
As for the 6946, I find it more comfortable to carry than the comparable, mid-size Glocks.

Well as far as compact nines go my Recon gets all the love. But I still like my 6946. Here it is with my 6906 and 908.
