Nice! My daughter and I have a lot of fun with ours.

Avoid the Remington Golden Bullets you find at Wal-Mart. We had an unacceptable amount of FTF and jams with them.

We've had good success with CCI's basic 40 grain LRN's. I bought a big brick of it from Brownells thinking it would last a while but we blasted it all in one weekend

Oh...one thing I should warn you about. Be extra careful when you break it down for cleaning. The recoil rod, spacer, and spring can fly, and they are very good at hiding. You may want to go ahead and order spares now

Overall for the price bracket they are a decent gun. Do not use any high powered ammo in it as a suggestion. Just the standard 40gr. CCI-SV as its reliable and gun for the gun also.

Shot it yesterday. More accurate than me. Something about a semi-auto .22 makes me want to waste ammo. I have a few new shooters that are going to love it.

Just take Barrie's advice on ammo - 22A frames have been known to crack and many of us suspect high-velocity ammo to be a cause. S&W has no more replacement frames so while they will help you out in the event of a failure, you won't have a 22A afterwards.

One of the regular winners at my club's .22 matches shoots one of these with a RDS attached.

I bought 1 off Gunbroker.com . When I got it, it was VERY dirty, dripping with oil and had messed up feed ramp and so much crud...Complete disassembly (thanks Youtube.com) and some work with dremel. A lot of polishing and deburring. I know why the seller sold it as it was unreliable. Worked just OK for the first hundred or so shots. Another good cleaning and a bit more touch up and now shoots any .22lr just fine. I was so impressed that I started searching and found a NIB 22A-1 from a shop in Maine! Bought it and now have 2. They said they had 4 more in stock. Got the wood grips and Red / Green Sightmark and they both shoot awesome. Very happy with these guns.

I bought mine strictly because it was a limited-production model. It is the Talo edition, made for a distributor on a once-and-done basis. It's two-tone blued and polished stainless with oversize wood stocks (you can buy them from S&W as well as the manufacturer of them). But when I shot it, I was very impressed and glad I bought it not just for its exclusivity. It's been a fun shooter.

I belong to a gun club that basically is an indoor shooting range that is very active in handgun leagues and one of our better rimfire league shooters asked to try it. He shot three 10-round groups with it and said that with a little trigger work, it could compete in their leagues. He was thinking about trying to find one to use as a backup gun.

It's too bad that they have been discontinued in favor of the Victory. Not that the Victory is a bad gun, just that another good gun is no longer made.
