Default Letter on a 39-2, glad I did!

I rec the results of a SDR on an early, unfired 39-2. I figured a fairly common pistol. Not a yawn, but a nice clean gun at a fair price. Mr. Jinks final notation, You may want a letter. Hook set
and form and check filled out. He gets me every time. I
appreciate the heads up. He has not steered me wrong yet. Mike

No reveal yet. Usually takes 24 days, box to box. The darn gun appears
to be unfired and has a beautiful set of smooth GA grips! Hats off for the turn around time. I will reveal when letter arrives. Mike

Funny enough if you look at many movie art examples from the original Beverly Hills Cop, you'll see that Axel's image is either mirrored/flipped OR he is holding the mythical Browning Hi-Power PORTSIDER model!

Can you provide more details, such as date or unit assigned? I worked there during the period that piece was approved for off duty but never knew the Department bought any.

Thanks

Standard 39-2 shipped Oct. 2, 1972 to Det. PD, no unit stated.
One of eight 39-2s in this shipment. One more small shipment went out in
1973. The gun is as new, with no visible wear at all. I would say
never issued. Sn. A183669
