Can anyone list the various factory barrels offered for the 41?

There are three basic types, with variations on them according to when they were produced. I guess maybe four, if you count the heavy barrel with extending sight as a separate type.
7- 7-3/8 lighter weight target barrel (with or without muzzle break)
5 heavy target barrel
5 heavy target barrel with extendable front sight
5 field barrel

I believe the heavy barrel target models are 5.5 inches, you could also ad the ribbed performance models as well. Fun stuff.

They also made a 7 inch and a 5.5 inch barrel that was drilled and tapped for a scope mount from the factory.

Only barrel lengths offered in standard production:
5” field (light barrel only)
5.5” heavy barrel
5.5” light barrel (performance center model only)
7” (around 1978 and on)
7 3/8” (7” with a 3/8” extension for mounting the muzzle brake) Made from 1957 till about 1978.
There were variations (5.5” with extendable front sight) and later production came with drilled and tapped barrels. Also different sight options.

Believe it or not, I shoot my M41 the best with the shortest barrel made,a 5" "Field/Sporter" version I picked up last summer. It was made back in the 70's I believe and was cut down by the Factory from it's original 7" configuration.
