52-2 ejection problems
Good afternoon all, I sure could use a little help with my model 52-2! It is not ejecting spent cases, I have replaced the extractor ( which I purchased through Jack First Inc.) and ejector ( from Numrich) Aldo new rebound spring ( also from Jack First). I’ve tried hotter loads (3.2 grain WST with precision delta hbwc) with no luck! Anyone else out there with similar issues? Thanks in advance!

Will the gun eject cases when you hand cycle?
Did the fired cases just sit in the ejection port?
Is the recoil spring of correct poundage?
Last but not least, double check your powder measure is dispensing the right amount of powder, I once have a batch of ammo that I thought was load with 2.8 gr. of Bullseye, actually, the measure was off, its throwing 2.2 gr., fired cases won't eject,
Hope this help.

thanhs for the reply Tony, the cases do NOT eject during hand cycle nor do they sit in the port! Usually have to drop mag and release pressure in order to get spent round out. My reloading machine is a Dillon Square Deal and is consistent with WST flake powder. I don’t have a means to measure spring weight but problem occurs with old and new spring. Again thanks for your input!

If it won't eject on hand cycling with empties, there is something wrong with the extractor. is the hook making proper fit to fall over the case rim?

I must ask, are you shooting re-loads or fresh ammo? Are you limp wristing during operation? Have you had anybody else shoot the gun? You write that you put a new extractor in it and spring. Should operate like a bandit if ammo is up to par.

Thanks for the replys, the extractor seems to be functioning as intended. I’m using reloads and I don’t feel like I’m limpwristing, I’m off to range tomorrow a.m. and I’ll have one of my buddies shoot it, he also happens to have a 52-2 also I’m going to compare extractor and ejector lengths and see if there are any differences! I’ll keep you posted!
