Default SW22 victory fails to go into battery

My SW22 fails to go completely into battery sometimes by like a millimeter. When this happens, the gun won't fire. To make the gun fire all I have to do is press on the back of the bolt to move it forward that millimeter and then it fires fine. This happens with any type of ammo including CCI minimag, federal automatch, aguila, etc.

The only thing I can think is extractor issues.
Any ideas?

I would give it a little time to break in.

I'm sorry, that was kind of a brief response. I would make sure that the chamber is totally clean. If you have not already done so, maybe remove the barrel from the frame and remove the bolt and just make sure that there is no metal shavings anywhere.

I have done all those things, but you are probably right about the break in time. It has only had about 150 rounds through it

No gun is really broken in until it has around 800 to 1000 rounds thru it. Thats what I have found with around 25 new guns over the years of many different makes and calliburs also.

Give it more time to break in. If it still does it, replace the recoil spring with a new one, or look around for a +1# spring.

Alternatively, how much are you oiling it? While a centerfire might be happy dripping wet, you can really oil a .22 just fine by putting a drop on a patch and wiping it down.

Watch your thumb placement as well. You could be riding the slide stop and retarding the bolt's forward movement.

Number your magazines, as well, and see if the problem is mag-related.

I have 500+ thru mine and have never had that issue. I agree, the more rounds thru it the better.

I would just shoot the heck out of it and clean it good after each trip to the range.
