Default First time shooting a Victory

I went through the NRA basic pistol class today on my to taking the pistol instructor course tomorrow and Monday. To qualify for the instructor course, you have to shoot a 6" group with 16 rounds out of 20 at 15 yards. I know this does not sound difficult, but I have not target shot in a while and most of shooting is point shoot for defense. Anyway, the instructor is a friend of mine and he had a Victory with him. After holding it, I decided to use it for the shooting portion. WOW! I love it. Super accurate and a dream to shoot. Easily passed all the quals with it! The only down side(if you want to call it that) is now I have another pistol added to the "to get" list!

The one I shot was the standard model. Anyone have experience with the target models with the red dots installed at factory? Got to do more research to see which one I will be getting!

And just for the record I had a smaller than 6" group with 19 out of 20 and the lone flyer was totally my fault flinching the shot high to the right!

Congrats with the Victory... they even do well in steel plate and conventional pistol too.

No experience with the target model, but the standard Victory 22 is a great starter club target pistol. It has good sights and trigger and fires CCI standard velocity ammo with accuracy.

My Victory is my favorite range gun. There is a of aftermarket accessories for the pistol. I prefer to leave my gunstock but I did have a TandemKross trigger installed. I also shoot with a red dot (it's the old eyes thing).

Love taking my Victory to the range, also. I started with the base model and have slowly added a Vortex Viper red dot and Tandemkross trigger, Hive grips, and extractor. Will probably throw in their hammer when it’s back in stock. I’ve got about $650 in it now. If S&W would have had the target models out when I bought mine I would have seriously looked at them.
